Donald Duane Doty, 79, of Glenmont, died Jan. 28, 2011, at his home, following a short illness.

Don was born June 22, 1931, in Nashville, to the late Marion Fredrick and Sophia E. Doty. He was a self-employed farmer and was a previous committee member of ASC and Grassland, Inc. He enjoyed going to auctions and was a collector of many things. He loved Ford tractors, horses, and cattle.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Doty, whom he married July 23, 1971; children, Donald “Bud” (Angela) Doty of Coshocton, Darryl (Linda) Doty of Shreve, Denise Doty of Holly Springs, N.C., Michael Getz of Chicago, Ill., and Charles (Shey) Getz of Garner, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, Todd and Ashley Doty, Eric Ames, April Stout, Bryan Doty, Renee Lewis, Desiree VanWicklin, Kayla Ketrick and Stephanie, Mic and Dylan Getz; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Ogi of Glenmont.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Doty.

Services were held Feb. 5, at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with Rev. Joanna Lance officiating. Burial will be in Nashville Cemetery.
