Sheep and goat forage management gathering will feature Bob Hendershot as guest speaker

Join other interested sheep and goat producers for dinner and a lively discussion about Maximizing Forage Utilization with Grazed and Stored Forages with Bob Hendershot, state grasslands conservationist with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. In addition to his work with forages, Hendershot is active with his own flock, the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association, and the Ohio Forage and Grasslands Council.

All interested persons are invited to gather on Thursday, Feb. 24, at Mrs. Yoder’s kitchen in Mt. Hope for a family style dinner at 5:30 p.m. The program will begin at 6. Reservations for the meal are needed at the Wayne County Extension office by Feb. 22. Cost for the buffet will be $14, which will be paid directly to the restaurant.

The Ohio Sheep Improvement Association and the Ohio Heartland Sheep Association brought this program to the area. Contact the Extension office at 330-264-8722 for a complete list of these programs in central Ohio covering a host of good management topics.
