Victoria Poulson

Victoria M. Poulson, 94, of Millersburg, died Feb. 25, 2011, with her family by her side.

Victoria was born Sept. 1, 1916, in Trail, to the late John and Malinda Lengacher. She was a graduate of Walnut Creek High School and the Business College of Canton. While married, she lived in Alaska, New Mexico, West Virginia, and Dayton, though she spent most of her life raising her five children with love and dedication in Millersburg. In addition to raising her children, she had a rewarding career at the Holmes County Treasurer’s and Recorder’s Office and the office of Castle Nursing Home, retiring at the age of 76. Victoria was a remarkable woman.

Besides being a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she enjoyed her relationship and involvement with her church family and playing cards with many friends.

Surviving are children, Ann (Richard) Price of Houston, Texas, John (Glenda) Poulson of Killbuck, Arthur Poulson of Millersburg, Linda Ellis of Mt. Vernon, and Bonnie (Steve) McKelvey of Coshocton; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Lengacher, who died in World War II in France; sisters, Virginia Pyers, Bonnie Mellinger Koenig, and Doris Parks; daughter-in-law, Jody Poulson; and a granddaughter, Emily Poulson.

Services will be held March 1, at noon, at St. John’s Church of Millersburg, with Rev. Kenneth Walther officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Winesburg. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon.

Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.
