Mansfield man banned from Walmart is sentenced for stealing from retail giant again

A Mansfield man, with a court order banning him from visiting all Walmart locations in Ohio, was sentenced Tuesday, March 8, for stealing computers from the retail giant’s Millersburg store.

Larry D. Davis, 37, of 27 Park Avenue, was sentenced in Holmes County Common Pleas Court to two years in prison on charges of burglary and grand theft.

The charges stem from four instances between Oct. 24 and Nov. 8. According to Roger Estill, a Millersburg police detective, Davis stole three computers from the Millersburg Walmart by taking the computers out a side door. Davis would load a computer into a cart and push it out a side door, having previously disabled the door’s alarm. Davis stole the computers on three separate occasions and was apprehended while attempting to steal a fourth computer.

Davis was banned from visiting Walmart stores after being convicted of similar charges in 2008, Estill said.

In addition to the prison time, Davis was ordered to pay restitution of $4,240.
