Born April 16, 1937, in Sugarcreek, Harold was a son of the late Thurlow “Pete” and Edna Auman. He retired as a driver and salesman from the Pepsi Cola Bottling Co., New Philadelphia, after 38 years of service.
Harold was a member of First Moravian Church, Dover, where he had served on the joint board. He was also a member of the Dover Tornado Club. Harold enjoyed all sports, especially playing golf, NASCAR, and coaching his son’s little league team. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends; whether going out to dinner or going on a cruise, Harold always looked forward to these events. He was a good friend and neighbor who was always there to lend a helping hand, and even though he was a man of few words, he always led by example.
Surviving are his wife, Sheila A. Auman, whom he married Oct. 9, 1955; children, Marcia (Dan) Harding, Bonnie Auman, and Jeff Auman, all of Dover; and two grandchildren, Kristin (Mike) Becker and Erin Harding of Dover.
Services will be held April 4, at 11 a.m., at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Pastor John Wallace officiating. Interment will be in Dover Burial Park. Friends may call April 3, from 4-7 p.m.
