Russell was born April 13, 1939, in Monessen, Pa., to the late Jess and Evelyn Sellman. He was a resident of Loudonville from 1974 until moving to Galion two years ago. He was an employee of The Gerstenslager Company, Wooster, retiring in 2004, and worked for the Myers family dairy farm near Lakeville. He was a member of Loudonville Baptist Temple.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary Lou Sellman, whom he married July 3, 1961; children, Rebecca (Ralph) Owens of Hayesville, Barbara Sellman of Mt. Vernon, Russell (Mendy) Sellman of Galion, and Richard Sellman of Lakeville; eight grandchildren, Zack Chapman, Emely Sellman, Jessie Sellman, Elaina Sellman, Erin Yarman, Hali Heffelfinger, Noah Yarman, and Taylor Yarman; a great-grandchild, Cooper J. Baldridge; and sister, Shirley (Larry) Milligan of Elizabeth, Pa.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Hurt; brother, John Sellman; and his mother-in-law, Naomi Barnhart.
Services will be held April 6, at 11 a.m., at Loudonville Baptist Temple, with Rev. David Koehler officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery, Lake Township. Friends may call April 5, from 4-6 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville.
