Two Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center (ACWHCC) Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) students participated in state competition in Columbus April 15. Dusty Freewalt, West Holmes, senior, received a gold medal for her teacher’s resource kit. Ashley Holbrook, Mapleton, senior, received a silver medal for her language and literacy presentation. The early childhood education teacher and FCCLA advisor is Shirley Meehan.

Three Future Farmers of American (FFA) students participated in District 2 FFA regional competition in Wooster April 12. Josh Hettinger, Hillsdale, senior; Brad McQuillen, Hillsdale, senior; and Josh Wenrich, Ashland, senior, placed second in team competition. They advance to state competition, which will be held April 15, at the Ohio State Agricultural Technical Institute in Wooster. Power equipment technology teacher and FFA advisor is John Donnersbach.
