“It is through the generosity and vision of many donors that we are able to present these scholarships every year,” said Anna Patton of the HCEF. “The foundation strives to increase the accessibility of post-secondary, vocational and continuing education by supporting individuals through need-based grants and scholarships.”
Since its inception in 1989, the HCEF has doled out more than $5.5 million in financial aid to hard-working Holmes County students.
This year, the foundation received 114 applications and had $90,600 to distribute to recipients.
“As always, the selection of this year’s winners was difficult due to the high number of applicants and also the high needs of the students, with limited funds available,” said Patton.
