According to Cyndi O’Donnell, Goodwill’s business development specialist, the traditional client of the industrial services division is a large manufacturer with more than 100 employees. The focus is slowly shifting, though, to smaller businesses with 99 employees or fewer who may be interested in expanding their services without necessarily increasing their workforce. “We’re trying to expand our reach to local manufacturers of all sizes by providing outsourcing options,” said O’Donnell. “Goodwill’s Industrial Services division offers customers a value-added service that helps their bottom line by allowing them to focus on their core competencies.”
This service offered by Goodwill Industries gives manufacturers a local outsourcing option for tasks such as packing, electronic and mechanical assembly, and sorting. This service also gives Goodwill consumers the opportunity to gain some hands-on work experience to either strengthen their existing skills or gain a new set of skills that will make them more marketable to employers in the community.
This event will take place in the Goodwill Industries Industrial Services division, located at 1034 Nold Avenue in Wooster. Breakfast will be sponsored by 3 Oaks Enhancement, LLC. For more information, or to make a reservation, contact Cyndi O’Donnell at 330-264-1300, ext. 228.
