WHMS Students of the Year awarded

On Friday, May 20, more than 400 students from West Holmes Middle School were recognized for having all A’s, honor roll, merit roll or perfect attendance status for the 2010-2011 school year.

Eighth-grade students receiving Student of the Year awards were Louis Yerse, language arts; Joshua Mackey, most improved student; Riley Wilcox, health; Luke Ogi, physical education; Buddy Beckett, public speaking; Stacey Plank, science; Kaelin Nelson, computer; Patcia Lanchman, math; Drew Scherer, social studies; Rebekah Brannon, visual art; Alison Sprang, choir; Logan Gallion, band.

Eighth-grade Students of the Year, awarded for their overall academic success were Jordan Stutzman and Kennady Miller. Kennady Miller was also awarded the Ray Kroc Award.

Receiving the Archie Griffin Youth Achievement Awards were Chase Campbell and Alexandra Brown.

Eighth graders receiving a $50 savings bond for all A’s all year were Kyrsten Costa, Brenna Gilley, Nathan Hall, Hannah Hypes, Zachary Jaeb, Haley Judson, Brandon Kozak, Patcia Lanchman, Jordan Lint, Brody Miller, Hannah Miller, Kennady Miller, Luke Ogi, Andrew Rodhe, Drew Scherer, Lydia Schonauer, Alison Sprang, Alexandria Starr, Caleb Stein, Jordan Stutzman, Colton Tennant, Cassie Thomas, Mallory Wahl.
