Kimberly Weightman was this year’s recipient of the Carol L. Hale Professionalism Award at the Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center’s Adult Recognition Ceremony May 24. This award is presented each year to a medical assisting student who excels in the following areas during the course of the program: displays a good grasp of the curriculum; competency in administrative and clinical skills; and professional attitude, behavior, and appearance. Driving from Mansfield daily, Kim maintained perfect attendance, earned over a 95 percent academic record, and was on the Adult Director’s List the entire year.

This award is named in honor of the career center’s first medical assisting instructor, Carol L. Hale (RN, CMA). She established and obtained the credentialing status for the program. The medical assisting program continues to be successful, upholding the ethics and values of the medical profession. Hale has and continues to provide for students the epitome of professionalism in the workplace.
