Habitat to hold groundbreaking ceremony for next home July 10

Holmes County Habitat for Humanity will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the affiliate’s next home on Sunday, July 10, at 2:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend. The home is being built in partnership with David and Lacie Sinnett and their two children. The home is expected to take approximately four months to complete.

The groundbreaking ceremony will be held at the home site on Township Road 164, Sugarcreek. Directions to the site are as follows: While traveling state Route 39 between Walnut Creek and Sugarcreek, turn south onto TR 420 (near Sharon Mennonite) then left (east) at the stop sign onto CR 140. In about 100 yards turn right (south) onto CR 141. Take CR 141 for about a half of a mile then bear right onto TR 164 past Bell Valley School. Sinnett’s lot is about .5 mile on the left. The lot is adjacent to another Habitat for Humanity home, which was completed several years ago.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry. Habitat works in partnership with people to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to Habitat’s partner families, at no profit and with no interest charged. Partner families invest hundreds of hours of their own labor – sweat equity – into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

Box 418, Millersburg 44654. Volunteers with all levels of experience are encouraged to call for information on workday opportunities.
