Katharina was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Stefkowa, Ukraine. As a young girl, she lived through WWII. She experienced the war as one who was forcibly transplanted by the Germans to work for them in Berlin. She married Walter Pacula on July 21, 1946. They came to America in 1957. Together, they founded Winesburg Provision in 1959, which they owned and operated until 1984. Currently, this business is still family owned and is operating as Winesburg Meats.
Surviving are sons, Marion (Linda) and Michael (Libby), both of Walnut Creek Township; five grandchildren, Taras, Anton (Courtney), Katrina, Jessica, and Darian; and a great-grandchild, Raven.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stefan; her mother, Anastasia; son, Walter; daughter, Erika; and her husband, Walter.
The entire family was able to be by her side throughout her last days and considered it a great privilege and blessing to be with her. Katharina will truly be missed and continue to be loved by family and friends.
Services were held June 24, at Spidell Funeral Home, Mt. Eaton. Interment was in Winesburg Cemetery.
