Alta was born August 13, 1936, in Sugarcreek, to the late Levi M. and Carrie Beachy. In her youth she joined the Old Order Amish Church and remained faithful to the end. She retired from Mast Leather, Walnut Creek, after 32 years of faithful service.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Beachy of Sugarcreek; brothers, Nelson Beachy of McKay and Dan (Sarah) Beachy of Sugarcreek; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; stepbrothers, Gideon (Anna) Yoder of Fresno, Dan (Mary) Yoder of Millersburg, Henry (Mary) Yoder of Millersburg, and Eli (Emma) Yoder of Sugarcreek; and stepsisters, Malinda (Albert) Yoder and Edna (Henry) Nisley, both of Millersburg, and Barbara (Jonas) Raber of Baltic.
She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Amanda Beachy; a sister-in-law; two nephews; and a great-niece.
Services will be held July 13, at 9 a.m., at the Beachy residence, with Bishop Jonas Borntrager officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery, Sugarcreek. Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. on July 11.
