Melisa Carr, assistant director of adult education, said, “We are pleased to join into a partnership with Brethren Care to offer this new program. Because our STNA program is 100 hours long, our graduates will also meet enrollment prerequirements of area college nursing programs.”
Traits needed to be a great STNA include compassion, empathy and caring. Nurse aides provide basic nursing care such as dressing, feeding, bathing and observing patients.
Because of the growing need for skilled health care providers, some state and county agencies are currently funding such programs. The career center price has even been restructured to better help potential students receive this valuable training.
Lori Keiser, transitions coordinator, said, “If unable to attend this open house, check out our website at http://www.acwhcc.org, or call the adult education office at 419-289-3313 to receive information about this or any other adult courses.”
