Donald E. Powelson, 68, of Baltic, died August 7, 2011, at his residence.

Donald was born March 24, 1943, in Bergholz, to the late Donald George and Edna Irene Powelson. He was a retired farmer and provided transportation for the Amish community.

Surviving are his life companion, Maxine L. Hamlin; children, Donald James (Connie) Powelson of Sugarcreek, Bobbi Jo (Tom) DeLoss of Johnstown, Willard (Cindy) Powelson of Alexandria, Lisa Powelson (fiance, Rob Funk) and Jessie (Jeff) Howard, both of Galion, Donna Jean Powelson of Utica, and Ben Hamlin and Kayla Hamlin (fiance, Terry Troyer), both of Baltic; sisters, Shirley Brigham of Carrollton and Cathy Hauenstein of Waynesburg; three half-brothers; 32 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a stepsister and stepbrother.

Services will be held August 10, at 1 p.m., at Smith-Varns Funeral Home, Sugarcreek, with Bishop David Miller officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Sugarcreek. Friends may call August 9, from 5-8 p.m.
