Dena Hershberger

Dena J. Hershberger, 56, of Sugarcreek, died August 14, 2011, at Pomerene Hospital, Millersburg.

Dena was born April 13, 1955, in Holmes County, to Katie M. Troyer of Fresno and the late John G. Troyer. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving are her husband, Rudy A. Hershberger, whom she married Oct. 18, 1973; sons, John (Iva) Hershberger of Millersburg, Reuben (Susie) Hershberger, Wyman (Erma) Hershberger, and Jonas (Marie) Hershberger, all of Sugarcreek, Daniel (Elsie) Hershberger of Millersburg, and Atlee (Esta) Hershberger, Joseph Hershberger (special friend, Anna Marie Beachy), and Allen Hershberger, all of the home; daughters, Betty (Jacob) Hershberger and Kathryn (Wayne) Mast, both of Millersburg, Cindy (Marion) Miller of Sugarcreek, Martha (Norman) Yoder of Fresno, and Esta Hershberger (special friend, David Mast), Rosie Hershberger, and Marie Hershberger, all of the home; 33 grandchildren; brothers, Dan (Fannie) Troyer, Ben (Esther) Troyer, and Wyman (Lizzie) Troyer, all of Baltic, David (Dena) Troyer of Missouri, and Johnny (Martha) Troyer of New York; and sisters, Annie (Jacob) Miller of Baltic, Edna (Andy) Yoder of Millersburg, and Emma (Junior) Miller of Baltic.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren; and sisters, Mary and Verna.

Services will be held August 17, at 9 a.m., at the Hershberger residence, with Bishop Mose M.E. Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Clark Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the residence.

Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home, Sugarcreek.
