Making the connection between your home and Keim

Connecting with the community is what Keim Lumber strives for since their beginning in 1911. Keim has held events such as Woodworker Nights for their woodshop accounts, Contractor Nights for their contractor accounts, and have even hosted a Sportsman Show for the local men in the community. There was only one thing missing…an event that catered solely to the women. In 2009, Keim Lumber held its first ever Ladies Night Out. The event drew a crowd of approximately 500 women and was an instant success. Now, in 2011, Keim Lumber is preparing for its third Ladies Night Out event and has a lot planned for the evening.

While men are typically the remodelers and do-it-yourselfers in the household, women are tackling these jobs more and more often. Keim Lumber realizes this change and decided to help. This year at Ladies Night Out, Keim Lumber will offer more than 25 different how-to demonstrations, from making homemade laundry detergent to operating scroll saws. Known typically as a lumberyard, Keim Lumber is anything but an “ordinary” lumberyard. With household, lawn and garden, paint, wallpaper, and lighting departments, there are many products to help women tackle that home project. The store will be closed to the general public and open to the attendees of the event.

During the evening, women will have the opportunity to enjoy an Interior Design seminar by local expert Barb Chalmers, a landscaping seminar by local experts from Grasshopper Landscaping, and cooking seminars from local chef Lee Ann Miller. Throughout all of the fun, there will be prize giveaways. The floor of the store will be decorated with colorful dots - colors will be announced over the PA system - with prizes awarded to shoppers standing on the correct color. Just wait there...and the dot patrol will pick you up. The grand prize of a one-night stay at Carlisle Inn of Walnut Creek followed by a breakfast for two at Rebecca’s Bistro will be up for grabs for those who preregistered.

Keim Lumber is excited to host this night of fun, relaxation and education. The entire staff of Keim Lumber invites women to register for Ladies Night Out, which will take place Sept. 9, from 5-9 p.m. This free event is an opportunity for women to educate themselves through demonstrations and seminars. While Keim Lumber is a lumberyard, it is much more than that. Keim is a resource for the community.
