Throughout the summer, the West Holmes FFA has taken part in many recreational and community activities.

At the end of May, the FFA chapter participated in the Memorial Day parade in Nashville by having a float members rode on and passed out candy.

The chapter held their annual hog roast that took place in June. The members and their families attended the Killbuck Park to enjoy an evening full of delicious food and a fun game of softball. Also in June, the chapter spent a morning at the fairgrounds for preparation for the upcoming fair. The chapter spent the morning cleaning the hog pens and cleaning the FFA building, which were damaged by the early spring floods.

During the month of July, the chapter went canoeing on the Mohican River. Members who attended enjoyed a day of cooling off in the river and spending time with friends. On July 28, West Holmes FFA sent eight members to the Ohio State Fair to work in the Ohio Poultry Booth in the Taste of Ohio Building. Along with working shifts in the booth, members got to venture around the fairgrounds and do some sightseeing. This summer the FFA chapter has held numerous activities for members to attend. Also during the month of July, the officer team set time aside to help prepare the team and chapter for the upcoming year. During the officer retreat, the team looked at their strengths and weaknesses as an individual and as a team. The officer team then set goals for themselves and for the 2011-2012 year.

As summer draws to an end, the West Holmes FFA has had a busy summer but the chapter is excited to start the upcoming year.
