Erb’s Stove Center to host 29th anniversary sale

A roaring fire is just one of the comforts that comes with the changing seasons. As summer is on its way out and fall begins to arrive, Erb’s Stove Center will host their annual anniversary sale, Sept. 16-17.

Driving into the parking lot at Erb’s Stove Center, customers are met with an array of outdoor furniture just waiting to be hauled back home. Beautiful poly outdoor furniture, well-built outdoor fire pits and striking children’s play sets decorate the exterior property, just outside of bustling downtown Berlin.

Once inside the showroom at Erb’s, the warmth from the flames and soft glow of the hearth easily set a calming and relaxed tone for the shopping experience – one that can only be found in Ohio’s Amish Country. A friendly smile from an employee is not uncommon, as manager Duane Erb and his coworkers know that the best way to meet the customers’ needs is to simply talk to them, learn about them and find out what they desire for around their home.

“We display everything for when the customer comes in. We always have our electric fireplaces going, and in the winter, we have the wood-burning fireplace going too, so people can feel the heat,” said Erb. “It’s relaxing and a place that feels like home.”

Fireplaces and stoves in gas, wood-burning and electric options, as well as beautiful, handcrafted mantels in rich woods like oak, cherry, hickory or maple are just some of the things found at Erb’s Stove Center. Among other products are entertainment centers, home décor items, hearth accessories and repair items, including doors, grates, chimney caps, and anything else new or existing fireplace owners may need.

The fireplaces and mantels are set up within the showroom to resemble what it would possibly look like in an actual home. There is furniture, artwork, cabinets and more, all placed intentionally to match each fireplace, making it easy for shoppers to visualize how something would look in their own personal dwelling space.

“Our goal is to help people imagine (a fireplace) in their home,” Erb said. “We build all of our mantels and cabinets ourselves, so they can pick out a lot of options. We can stain them to match whatever they have or whatever they want.”

With so many options, one may think the browsing experience would be overwhelming, but at Erb’s Stove Center, the employees devote plenty of one-on-one attention to their customers, remaining mindful of the ultimate goal – offering high quality products that satisfy each customer, guaranteed. And according to Erb, the best way to find the perfect match between customer and product is by holding a conversation with his visitors.

“We try to help the customer by asking questions. What do they have? Where to they want to put it? How do they want to use it?” he explained. “Then we lead them to the product that will best suit their needs. There’s not a lot of people that walk in and simply say, ‘I want that,’ so we show them around and help them pick out styles and models they like.”

And as the leaves begin to change from lush greens to burnt oranges and rusty reds, Erb’s Stove Center is preparing for the upcoming fall and winter seasons, stocking their showroom with the highest quality and mostly American-made products, as well as offering a special 29th anniversary sale the weekend of Sept. 16-17.

“It’s the start of the season,” Erb explained. “It’s early, but our wood-burning stoves and inserts are popular, and we promote all of our fireplaces, which are on sale. Grills are primarily used in the summer, but they can still be a nice feature in the fall. There are diehards like myself, where it could be snowing, and we don’t care. We’ll still be out there grilling.”

Outdoor furniture, such as chairs and gliders, are also products Erb’s Stove Center will provide discounts on during their special sale, as well as offering other incentives to shoppers such as a drawing giveaway, homemade ice cream and Trail bologna and Swiss cheese sandwiches.

The sale, which is always held in the fall, helps Erb’s Stove Center enjoy quality time with their customers, some of which return year after year for the annual event, while showcasing the quality products that set them apart from the competition.

“Our goal is always about quality and customer service. When people come here, they know they’re going to get that,” Erb said. “People come here from all over. So for locals or visitors, just come in and look around and see what we actually have, especially at our anniversary sale.”

Erb’s Stove Center is located at 4100 SR 39, Millersburg 44654. They can be reached by phone at 330-893-3903.
