“This event is absolutely free. We just love to help our customers get fresh ideas for the holidays,” said Butterchurn Kitchenwares’ manager, Miriam Beachy.
If you believe your pies are the best, pick up an entry form and prove it in the pie bake-off. “The pie contest will include three categories; fruit, nut and pumpkin. Each category will be awarded a first, second and third place prize. First place is a $100 gift card that can be used at any of the shops at Walnut Creek Cheese,” said Beachy. The top 10 pies will receive a free subscription to Taste of Home magazine and the winning pie will be featured online by Taste of Home.
“We wanted to bring the community into this event and we thought our customers would enjoy participating in the pie contest,” said Beachy.
Get inspired with holiday recipes by Betty Firebaugh and Lee Ann Miller, Taste of Home field editor, brand ambassador and owner of Miller Haus Bed & Breakfast just outside Walnut Creek. “Taste of Home represents who I am,” said Miller. “As a working wife and mother, I am looking for tips and shortcuts when preparing meals. Taste of Home is such a trusted brand and they have been incredible to work with.”
