TOPS members hear presentation on seasonal affective disorders

TOPS OH 1573 Nashville met Oct. 26 with 10 members reciting the TOPS and KOPS Pledges. The club had 3.4-pound loss. Stacy Bair was the best monthly loser. She said to eat healthy snacks. Leo Tope was the best weekly and monthly rededicated loser. He said to eat less and exercise. Lana Rush was the best weekly and monthly KOPS. She said to eat more green vegetables.

Eileen Lowe moved to buy a turkey and give groceries to a military family at Thanksgiving as well as to a needy family. Tom Alexander will coordinate the Christmas party. The annual walking contest has ended and Leo Tope will calculate the winners and awards will be given.

Lana Rush gave a program on seasonal affective disorders. Changing of seasons, especially ending of summer, can bring on sadness and depression. It tends to affect middle-aged women more than others. Lana also read nutritional information from Wendy’s. She read the amount of sodium and calories for various foods. Members asked about specific foods.

Martha Kuntz will bring tasting food and direct roundtable discussion next week. The club meets on Wednesdays with weigh-in at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting at 5:45. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 330-763-1347 or 330-378-2438 or 330-378-2723.
