Nashville TOPS meeting news

TOPS OH1573 Nashville welcomed area captain Tomas Seman and his wife Mary. He gave a background on the TOPS organization. There are 379 chapters in Ohio. There were 12 members in attendance, with a loss of 3.6 pounds. Katie Kline was the best weekly loser. She said to eat frequently. Geneva Pringle was the best weekly re-dedicated loser. She said to drink plenty of water and exercise. Lana Rush was the best weekly KOPS. She said to use portion control and no seconds.

Seman presented an interesting program entitled Super Foods. Super Foods are colorful plant-based foods and some fish. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber and are important in reducing the risk of chronic diseases such as: heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes, macular degeneration, and possibly Alzheimer’s. He gave each person water beads made by Mary to measure the amount of water they drink each day. They were told the tremendous value of flax seed and soy foods. He then introduced them to quinoa.

The club meets Wednesdays, with weigh-in at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting at 5:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 330-763-1347 or 330-378-2438 or 330-378-2723.
