Harriet Brumme

Harriet Brumme, 73, of Millersburg, died Nov. 30, 2011, at Aultman Hospital, Canton, following a short illness.

Harriet was born Dec. 31, 1937, in Barberton, to the late Lloyd H. and Helen L. Schlauch. She was a 1955 graduate of Nashville High School. She had worked at Wooster Egg Auction and then worked 25 years at the Wooster Brush Co., where she retired. Harriet farmed with her husband at Black Velvet Farms, where they raised Angus/cross breds. She loved flowers and enjoyed family get-togethers.

Surviving are brothers, Lloyd (Jamie) Schlauch of Brinkhaven, Harry (Judy) Schlauch of Wooster, and David (Sandy) Schlauch of Big Prairie; sisters, Bette (Wayne) Barnes of Big Prairie, Hazel (John) Young of Glenmont, Edith (Bob) Moser of Big Prairie, and Beverly (James L.) Duncan of Lakeville; sister-in-law, Mary Jean Schlauch of Lakeville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Brumme, whom she married April 20, 1958; and brother, Carl Schlauch.

Services will be held Dec. 5, at 11 a.m., at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Millersburg.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Killbuck United Methodist Church, Nashville United Methodist Church, or the Nashville Fire Department.

Harriet’s legacy lives on with her gift of sight through eye donation.
