Vickie Baker

Vickie Leigh Baker, 59, of Millersburg, formerly of Indianapolis, Ind., died Dec. 29, 2011, at Pomerene Hospital, following a long-standing illness with advanced multiple sclerosis.

Vickie was born March 13, 1952, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Rowena Francis Busby and the late Paul Donovan. She went to Indiana State University, Terrehaute, Ind., receiving a bachelor’s degree in childhood education. She worked in Long Beach, Calif., for 10 years as a childhood counselor and grew up in Eglewood Christian Church, Indianapolis, Ind. She enjoyed reading Christian literature and was part of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Surviving are a son, Brian Baker of Long Beach, Calif.; sister, Paula Hacker of Wilmot; brother, Jeffrey Busby of Indianapolis, Ind.; a niece, Cara Denise Gerrets; and two nephews, Ryan Hacker and Sean Busby.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Donovan and David.

The family wants to express their deep gratitude to all the staff at Majora Lane on behalf of Vickie.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.

Family suggests memorial contributions be given to MS Research.
