Karen Jorz

Karen J. Jorz, 65, of Lakeville, died Jan. 6, 2012, at her home, following an extended illness.

Karen was born Nov. 26, 1946, in Cleveland, to the late John A. and Veronica Magyar. She was employed at Pomerene Hospital, Millersburg, for 23 years, worked one year at Marymount Hospital, and 10 years for Ohio Bell.

Karen was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Glenmont. She was also a member of TOPS, was a Red Cross volunteer, a Cub Scout den mother, volunteered at the food pantry, and was a member of the CAYOMAW Club and the Secular Franciscan Order.

Surviving are her husband, Leonard Jorz Jr.; children, Maria (Doug) Rock, Matthew (Megan) Jorz, and Sarah (Rob Curry) Hykes; and six grandchildren, Tyler, Parker, Natalie, Braiden, Robert, and Elizabeth.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Springer; and daughter, Mary.

Services will be held Jan. 9, at 11 a.m., at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Glenmont, with Father Stephen L. Krile officiating. Burial will be in the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services.

Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to a food pantry of the donor’s choice or to hospice.
