Paul Yoder turned a hobby into a business 40 years ago when he started Fire Extinguisher Service. As a charter member of the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department, he was well-known in the community. The business grew and so did fire safety awareness. Soon Yoder needed help with the workload and turned to his grandsons.

When ailing health made it too difficult to continue, Yoder’s son, Allen, and his wife, Debbie, took over the business with the hopes of serving customers as well as his father did for so many years.

Services include consulting, fire extinguisher installation, recharges, monthly and annual inspections, hydrostatic testing and hands-on training.

To meet the needs of the community, Allen is licensed and certified to install and service automatic fire suppression systems in commercial cooking facilities and industrial paint booths. He can also do testing on emergency and exit lighting.

Properly trained technicians and a commitment to the level of integrity expected in the community has allowed Fire Extinguisher Service to expand their services to better accommodate the various fire safety needs in the region where they are known and trusted and where they feel God wants them to serve and let their light shine.
