In observance of heart health month, Pomerene Hospital will be offering cardiovascular screenings through the month of February.

Throughout the month of February, individuals can schedule a cardiovascular screening through the Pomerene Hospital Radiology department. No physician order is necessary.

Those who are interested in scheduling a cardiovascular screening this month must be over the age of 50 with the following risk factors:

- Cardiovascular disease or family history

- Diabetes

- High cholesterol or take cholesterol medication

- Are a smoker

- Irregular heartbeat

- High blood pressure or take BP medication

- Leg swelling, varicose veins, or family history

The cardiovascular screening will include the carotid artery screenings, abdominal aortic screening, and peripheral arterial screening.

The cost for the screening package is $90, payable by cash, check or credit card. Most insurance and Medicare will not cover vascular screening exams and Pomerene Hospital will not bill insurance.
