Amazing truths of who we now are in the Spirit of the new covenant

In my last column I mentioned how everything we will ever need has already been provided by God through Jesus and placed in our born again spirits. I know this is a hard concept for many to grasp, but I wanted to show through scripture just a few of the amazing truths of who we now are in our spirit if we have received Christ as our Savior. Our spirits are the real us, and our bodies are simply the vessels that house our spirits. All these truths are because of Jesus and not because of anything we have done in and of ourselves. We must keep him as our focus. It is never us apart from him but always because of him living in us.

I would say most of these will be really hard to grasp initially and definitely wonít feel like who you really are in your spirit, but I pray that you can receive them by faith. I would encourage you to look them up and meditate on them, renewing your mind to who Christ has made you to be through the new covenant of grace. These are just a taste of what we have been given through Christ:

I am a brand new, perfect creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). I have the very spirit of Jesus living in me (1 John 4:13 and Galatians 4:6). I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). I am deeply loved by my Heavenly Father (John 3:16, Romans 8:35 and 39 and 1 John 4:9-10,16 and 19). I am more than a conqueror through Christ (Romans 8:37). Everything I set my hand to prospers (Deuteronomy 28:8). Jesus has qualified me (Colossians 1:12). I am holy, blameless and above reproach in his sight (Colossians 1:22). I am the head and not the tail, above and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13). I have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). I have an anointing from the Holy One, and I know all things (1 John 2:20).

As Jesus is, so am I in this world (1 John 4:17). Greater is he who is in me than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). I have Godís exceedingly great power in me, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead (Ephesians 1:19-20). God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all I ask or think according to his power that is at work within me (Ephesians 3:20). I have power to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease (Matthew 10:1). I can lay my hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:18). By his stripes I have already been healed (1 Peter 2:24). I am completely and eternally forgiven (Hebrews 9:12, 8:12, 10:10 and 12 and many more). I have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). I have the fullness of Jesus living in me (John 1:16).

I am at peace with God (Romans 5:1). I am not condemned (Romans 8:1). God has sealed me and given me his Spirit as a guarantee (2 Corinthians 5:5 and 1:22). No weapon formed against me will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). God will always have mercy on me and will never be angry with me (Isaiah 54:9-10). I have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control already living inside of me (Galatians 5:22-23). I do not have the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13). I am complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10). I am a joint heir with Christ, making me a child of the King (Romans 8:17 and Galatians 4:7).
