A standout pitcher and shortstop on the diamond and an 800 specialist in track and field, Miller has excelled in both sports, which is amazing because they take place during the same season.
Miller took a step toward eliminating that issue when he opted to run track this season, and he also took a big step toward his future when he recently signed a letter of intent to attend Indiana Wesleyan University, where he will join the track and field team.
Miller, who also has competed in cross country for the Pirates, will be a middle distance runner for the Wildcats under first-year head coach Caleb Snyder. Indiana Wesleyan competes in the NAIA in Div. II.
Miller is a four-year letter winner in cross country and was a part of three Pirates team state appearances. As primarily a baseball player in the spring, he also tried his hand on the track last season, where he was able to qualify for the Div. III state championship. He placed 11th overall in the 800 meter. Miller also was the OATCCC indoor track state runner-up in the 800 in 2016.
