The seventh annual Antique Market will be Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the lawn of the Mishler Weaving Mill at 381 E. Main St. in Smithville.

Each of the vendors will present quality antiques for purchase, from primitive pieces, to Victorian treasurers, to small or large pieces. There will be something for everyone.

Old-fashion dulcimer music will be played by Norma Trotter and Friends for the shoppers. Refreshments will be served at the Mishler Weaving Mill, and the weavers will be busy in the mill along with Lena Mishler, who will share the family story with those in attendance.

The Pioneer Village will open for tours of all its buildings from 1:30-4 p.m. The blacksmiths, potters, tinsmiths, wheelwrights and woodworkers will display their skills and tell stories of their trades.

The Downey Pioneer Visitors Center is still under construction, but volunteers may be able to give a sneak peak of what is going on. The Lydo Barns exhibits change with regularity to tell the story of how families cared for the family farm in earlier years.

Baseball played as if the game had stepped back into the 1860s will be on the field behind the Irvin Pioneer Cabin. Those in attendance can bring chairs and blankets to watch the Smithville Stars play the Mansfield Independents. Viewers will hear terms unfamiliar today but that still pop up at games.
