Grizz is on the mend: Donations still sought

The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue in Westfield, New York, where Grizz is receiving care, publishes a calendar each year as a means to raise funds. This is Grizz's modeling photo.

Grizz is a 2-year-old Bulldog mix who came to the Holmes County Dog Warden's Department in pretty bad shape. He was severely malnourished, underweight and heartworm positive. He recuperated at the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue in Westfield, New York. He is receiving special veterinary care but is well enough to be neutered this week and will begin heartworm treatment shortly thereafter.

To date, the Dog Warden's Department has collected $715 for Grizz's care. Most of this was made possible by Kaye Coakley of Layland, who passed away July 23, 2017. Her family asked that donations in her memory go to the care of Grizz.

Donations can be sent to the Holmes County Dog Warden's Department, 5387 County Road 349, Millersburg, OH 44654.
